Before you can attend the home study hunter safety class in Franklin County, you will complete this home study course on your own schedule.
It covers the foundational knowledge you need to get the most out of your hands-on training. You will learn firearm safety rules, how to handle a firearm responsibly, hunting laws and ethics in Vermont, and how to stay safe in the field.
The material is written clearly so it is easy to understand no matter your experience level.

You will put your knowledge into action with hands-on activities, live demonstrations, and guided practice alongside certified instructors.
Topics covered include safe firearm handling, target identification, field carry techniques, hunter ethics, and Vermont-specific hunting regulations. Instructors walk through every skill step by step so students of all experience levels feel confident and prepared.
This hunter safety course in Franklin County is free to all participants.
There are no pre-requisites.

This course is required by the State of Vermont for anyone who has not previously held a hunting license.
Upon passing, you will be certified to hunt in Vermont and most other states.
